focus on: gardening
Any gardener will tell you that the foundation for a successful garden is the soil. The better the soil quality and the more nutrient dense it is, the better the quality of the plants that are grown.
This is important when it comes to the fruit and vegetables that we grow. Much of the food we eat these days is produced in large farms where industrial farming techniques deplete the soil of vital nutrients. This is one of the reason that many of us take supplements as we don’t get the right level of vitamins and minerals from the food we eat.
So it is vitally important than we enrich our soil. We can all do our bit in our patch by using the waste we generate from the kitchen, turning it into compost and using this to fertilise our soil. It is the perfect recycling system.
February is a great time to start caring for the soil too that it is ready for Spring planting!
